Calling All Artists for Two Special Plein Air Paint Outs at Brandywine Conservancy Preserves!

Events take place at Laurels Preserve in Unionville, PA, on June 3, and Waterloo Mills Preserve in Devon, PA, on June 10

he Brandywine Conservancy invites artists to spend a day experiencing art and the environment painting outdoors and drawing inspiration from the organization's beautiful natural preserves.

On Wednesday, June 3, artists may paint at Laurels Preserve, 771-acres of open space located in Unionville, Pennsylvania. The Laurels has an abundance of scenic vistas, as well as extensive forests, wildflowers, and two historic covered bridges. Buck Run and Doe Run flow through the property, joining together in the Laurels to form a single stream that flows into the West Branch of the Brandywine. 

On Wednesday, June 10, artists may paint at Waterloo Mills Preserve, located 15 miles west of Philadelphia in Devon, Pennsylvania. Waterloo Mills hasan 18th century village, mill race remnants, wildflower meadows, fertile marshes, mature woods and over a mile of meandering creek.

Paint out hours are 9 a.m. to dusk. The cost is $10 per person and advance registration is required. To register,visit brandywine.org. The Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art (www.brandywine.org) preserves art and the environment in Pennsylvania and Delaware.The Conservancy preserves the land and water of the Brandywine watershed for the community through source water protection, farmland preservation, and work with local governments. It has permanently protected from development more than 62,000 acres in Chester and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania, as well as New Castle County in Delaware, and holds more than 460 conservation easements, granted by landowners to save their property's natural, scenic and historic resources.
