Brandywine River Museum of Art to offer free 'Sensory-Friendly' Program on Saturday, October 14
Chadds Ford, PA, October 10, 2017 — Families are invited for early access to the Brandywine River Museum of Art on Saturday, October 14, from 8:30 to 10 a.m., during “PECO Sensory-Friendly Saturday.” This accessible program is designed specifically for visitors on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing disorders.
Created in conjunction with occupational therapists and local families, “PECO Sensory-Friendly Saturday” is an inclusive program that strives to provide a welcoming experience through pre-visit materials, special gallery activities, and sensory break areas. A variety of creative art projects will also be offered throughout the program, including watercolor and sculpting activities. Families with members on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing disorders may also check out a free PECO Sensory-Friendly Museum Pack to use during their visit to Brandywine. Sponsored by PECO, these packs contain social stories, fidget toys, noise-cancelling headphones, and activity suggestions.
