FAQs
When do I need to make my group reservation?
-
To be eligible for group pricing, guided groups must make their reservation at least one month in advance of their visit date. Unguided groups must contact our office at least one week prior to their visit.
What does group pricing include?
-
All pricing includes entrance to the museum galleries & any special exhibitions on view at the time of your visit. Complimentary admission/tours are given for one group leader. Bus drivers also receive complimentary admission, but not tours.
I am a member of the museum. Do I still have to pay for a group visit?
-
Yes. Since groups receive special pricing and arranged tours, we do not offer discounts for members.
I have less than the 10-person minimum for a guided tour. Can I still have a private tour?
-
Yes, we are willing to consider groups under our minimum, however groups will be priced at a flat rate that reflects the 10-person minimum.
I have less than the 15-person minimum for the self-guided group rate. Can my group still visit?
-
Yes! Your group is welcome to visit the museum but will receive regular admission rates. You can get your tickets in advance online or at the door. Click here for current admission prices and/or to purchase your tickets online.
Some in my group may have physical limitations. Can you accommodate walkers and wheelchairs?
-
Our museum building is fully ADA accessible and has elevator access to all three of our floors. Your group is welcome to bring walkers and wheelchairs. We also have a limited number of wheelchairs available by request. We offer one wheelchair seat per shuttle. Due to the smaller spaces of our historic artist studios, the layout can present challenges for groups with physical limitations and is not recommended for individuals who cannot stand during the one-hour tours or require a wheelchair.
Do you have lunch available on site?
-
Yes, our Millstone Café is open between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and offers a wide selection of lunch options, as well as light refreshments and coffee. Groups of 10 or more interested in having lunch at the museum must book a reservation for $16/person. This must be requested at least two weeks in advance of your visit. Groups over 30 will be split into separate lunch shifts. Click here for more info.
When are tours available?
-
We offer museum tours year-round, excluding dates between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. The tours can be scheduled for any hour increment during the day, starting from when we open to an hour and a half before we close. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour.
-
Our historic artist studios are available between early April and late November and run on certain days and times of the week. Please check our schedule to plan accordingly.
What is the maximum group size you can accommodate for tours?
-
We can accommodate any size group for a museum tour. Larger groups will be divided into 10-15 visitors per docent and start your tour in different parts of the galleries. If your group has requested a tour of a special exhibition, we may need to break your group into multiple tour times to accommodate our smaller galleries.
-
Artist studios are small historic buildings, and these tours are limited to 14 visitors per time slot. Groups of more than 14 visitors can still visit these properties but will need to be divided accordingly. Groups participating in studio tours cannot exceed 56 visitors, as we have a maximum of four tour times each day. Click here for more info.
