Round 2: Dig a little deeper
If the plug doesn’ fit, you must commit. Or something like that.
With thousands of plants left to get into the ground, and the clock ticking on Day Two, the crew fights through the pain. Days later, we here at the BWJ still have pains. And aches. Not necessarily in that order. And not necessarily from planting that day. Who can keep track?
Wednesday, July 24, 2013, the team of employees and volunteers are perfecting their techniques to get the plants in with as little soil disruption as possible (don’t want to wake up those weed seeds), and with as much soil contact as possible (got to give those new roots something to cling to).
The weather remains cooperative. Low- to mid-80’s. And occasional clouds. For late July? We’ll take it.
