All hands on… dirt
Big-dig doings on the campus of the Brandywine Conservancy and Brandywine River Museum.
New gardens are being installed in what could be one of the biggest projects the Chadds Ford, Pa., property has seen in many years. And we’re blogging about it. Not just about the new gardens, either, but about all things related to the many native plants and wildflowers here on the banks of the Brandywine.
Brandywine Wildflower Journal has “reporters in the field” so to speak, and is eager to share. OK, so, it’s more like one volunteer’s wide-eyed view of all the exciting things happening here. But, at least it’s a start. And organic, too.
What better way to get started than with the all hands on… dirt bulletin that went out to employees and volunteers. Dozens reported for duty on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, to start a three-day effort transforming some of the grounds’ turf areas into new native plant and wildflower gardens. What a colorful cast of characters. And that was just the plants.
