ARTZ at the Brandywine

ARTZ at the Brandywine

Join us for a special in-person program welcoming a group of participants with dementia and their care partners to view and discuss art at the Brandywine Museum of Art in a supportive setting. Brandywine educators and ARTZ Philadelphia staff will facilitate encouraging and inclusive group conversations about two to four works of art per session. Through sharing ideas or simply listening to others, participants will have a meaningful, invigorating and joyful encounter.

ARTZ at the Brandywine features:

  • small-group conversations inspired by art
  • a safe space in which people with dementia, their families and friends can come together, free from judgment and supported in being fully themselves
  • a comfortable space in which imaginations soar and a sense of community is established through mutual trust and respect
  • a place where “communication” and “conversation” take place in all sorts of ways, from smiling eyes to evocative words to eloquent gestures to joyous laughter

Participation is free with advance registration, but we ask that you register as early as possible. We keep our programs small and intimate in scale so that everyone feels comfortable and at ease. Registrations are first-come, first-served.
