Monarchs, Milkweed and More

Penguin Court and the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art (SAMA) are hosting the return of this family-friendly event at SAMA’s Ligonier Valley location. Spend the afternoon learning about the life cycle of monarch butterflies and “other” insects that utilize milkweed; net and help tag monarch butterflies; listen to a presentation about their migration and the plants that support it; participate in children’s activities like the Monarch Marathon game; tour SAMA’s gardens; and observe artists from the Plein Air Painters of the Laurel Highlands whose created works will be available for purchase.  Winners from the Pennsylvania Pollinator Photo Challenge will be announced with the winning photographs on display.  It will be a wonderful afternoon of family fun and butterfly adventure!
