5th Annual Walk in Penn’s Woods Hike
The Brandywine Conservancy is partnering with East and West Bradford Townships to host a free hike along the East Branch Brandywine Trail at 10 a.m. on Sunday, October 3rd.
The hike is one of many being offered statewide as part of the 5th annual Walk in Penn’s Woods event that showcases and brings exposure to the many outdoor trails and protected open spaces that Pennsylvania offers its residents and guests.
This year’s hike on the Brandywine Trail will begin from the Sugar’s Bridge Nature Area parking lot located at 1085 Downingtown Pike (Rt. 322), West Chester, PA 19380. The hike will take approximately 1.5 hours and will traverse sections of the paved Brandywine Trail, as well as short sections of unpaved trails in Harmony Hill Nature Area. There will be options to remain on the level paved trail that is stroller-friendly and wheelchair accessible for anyone who prefers. This year’s hike will include information on the ecology, geology and history of the preserved land that surrounds the trail. All ages are welcome and leashed pets are permitted. No pre-registration required.
