Gardens at the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art

The grounds of the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art are landscaped with a diversity of native plants.

It is always fun to observe the progression of blooms throughout the season, beginning with the first subtle colors of the spring ephemeral wildflowers to the late summer blast of color from the showier blooms.  The diversity of plants makes any time of year a good time to visit and observe the native flowers and shrubs.

All of the gardens on our grounds are carefully tended by a cadre of dedicated and talented volunteers who weed, water, and harvest seeds from the blooms to propagate new plants for the gardens and for sale at the Conservancy's annual native plant sale in May.  When visiting the our campus, be sure to save some time to explore the grounds.

You can pick up a guide booklet in the Museum shop that identifies the species planted in our gardens.  It's a great way to get new ideas for your own landscape.
